SIXTH TASK


        Where is the Outrage? Critical Pedagogy in Dark Times.
                               
In this lecture, Henry Giroux gave us important aspects to keep in mind, when talking about education. he points out that education has been directly affected by political and corporate. unfortunately, the corporations and politics that are closely related have directly affected the way of teaching in an educational institution. Imposing new forms of teaching, which is based solely on the transmission of concepts, it is because this system does not want people to think and question those concepts. This could carry out new ways of thinking, putting into question the system itself. However, the market according to Henry not only has influenced in the education but also in the culture, removing the possibility to people not only to think by their own but also how they should act.  Giving them a set of behaviors that constituted the way people should get success, asking them to work as individuals, in their own goals. besides,  they show people that the way of being happy is by buying things, using it, and discarding them even before they become obsolete.

This way of thought ends with terms such as: democracy, community, equality and the common good and, along the way, eliminates education understood as a public good and pedagogy as an empowering practice. Henry described this educational system as violent because it does not develop critical thinking and on the other hand, limits students thinking. However,  He gave us some lights to resist in the way of the death of education, highlighting the need for true change in the way of education is taught that influence on the behavior and cultural patterns of a community. Characteristics such as the need to create within the university, the community which defends public institutions and critical thinking,  the need for the collective character of all academic productions, that is, how my project can help and improve the ways of life of a community. Something also important exposed by  Giroux was the need for teachers to be generators of critical thinking, trying to reduce the gap between what is learning and social change.

REFLECTION TASK First Reflection : Emotional self-management The emotions are difficult to  manage when arguing with others, In my personal case i consider myself sometimes as rude because when  I try to defend my opinion just when know that  i have strong  arguments, i feel  angry,   but sometimes when i am not clearly sure, i respect other's opinions and i try to complement or help to analyze the pros and the cons. when i have those feelings, i try to keep calm, breathe, and not to say anything, and  when i feel better  i try  to discuss, because i know that opinions depends on different ways humans experience life.
